Carivan Missouri, 30, has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for plotting revenge.

Dundee Sheriff’s Court was told that the Missouri abuse campaign was designed to “embarrass, humiliate and embarrass” the student.

He also sent videos of the 23-year-old girl in the shower to her family when they broke up and demanded that her father stop her from sharing more.

Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC sentenced him to 47 months in prison, saying it was clear he had suffered “too much”.

Sheriff Drummond also ordered a 12-month release on “public safety”.

He said: “These crimes are serious and have had a devastating effect on her and her entire family.

“Your motive was not sexual gratification, but shame, humiliation and revenge.

“The embarrassment and fear he has faced continues. It is clear that the cultural context has intensified.

Missouri has spent more than a year posting content without consent on Facebook and adult video websites.

He then turned his attention to the content when he tried to blackmail his father for $ 50,000 (£ 37,000) to prevent him from posting more explicit material.

Finance Deputy Laura Apostalova told the court: “Her friends and family were sent photos and videos of her being naked in the shower.

“Her face was clearly visible. The video showed her having sex.

He was also posted on a pornographic website. He thought the accused was responsible.

Stimulation of ‘shame, humiliation and revenge’

“More than 13 months of nude photos and videos circulated online on various accounts.”

The court was told that some nude photos were partially covered, with Missouri inserting emojis and phrases on the woman’s private parts.

Missouri confessed to revealing photos and videos of the woman’s intimacy without his permission.

He also confessed to threatening or abusing the woman by uploading photos of her home and personal details about her between February 2019 and February last year.

He pleaded guilty to two charges during the trial, and was later convicted by a jury of two related extortion conspiracies.

Missouri was found guilty of trying to extort money from an Iraqi general between September 18 and December 31, 2019.

The jury found that he had intimidated his victim by fearing that more nude photos of his daughter would be posted online.

He was also found guilty of trying to extort £ 8,000 from another man at his workplace in Dundee.

The general, whose name could not be released for legal reasons, told the trial: “It has tarnished my family’s reputation.”

The jury was told that Missouri remained in a relationship with the woman until she returned to her family in the Middle East.
