The creators of Call of Duty are working on a “new war zone experience” for 2022.
The shocking revelation was buried under a blog post about “future plans”.
Game developers have detailed changes to Warzone, and even mentioned the next Call of Duty episode.
This is the sequel to the 2019 Modern Warfare title, which is being produced by Infinity Ward.
But he also said that Warzone would be given a new look.
It includes a brand new map for the popular Battle Royale mode.
“This year’s Call of Duty is a sequel to Modern Warfare 2019,” the game makers said.
“The new game and the new Verzon experience have been developed together.
“Expect the massive evolution of Battle Royale with a brand new playspace and a new sandbox mode.”
Activation confirmed that there will be a new version of Warson, as well as an additional sandbox mode.
It could potentially allow gamers to create their own version of Warzone with custom settings and more.
The creators of Call of Duty also confirmed that a new engine will power the new game release as well as Warzone.
And that Infinity Ward is developing both the new Call of Duty and the modern Warzone.
This will be the second (or third, depending on your opinion) major update since the launch of Call of Duty Warson.
The free-to-play game launched on March 10, 2020, just as rival games Fortnite and PlayerUnnow’s Battlegrounds were adding Battle Royale titles.
The game was originally launched with a Russian-style map called Verdansk.
It was eventually replaced by Verdansk ’84, which saw the whole map of the Cold War spring travel through time.
In the end, however, it was the same map – despite major changes.
Then just last year the war zone changed again. Replacing Verdansk for WW2 Pacific themed Caldera.
This coincided with the release of the new Call of Duty Vanguard Man title game.
It was a huge overhaul, completely replacing the old war zone map.
And it is possible that Activision 2022 will do the same again with Warzone.
If 2022 Call of Duty is a modern warfare title, it will make sense.
