The 90-room St. George’s Hotel in Harrogate has been purchased by the collection group.

The award-winning Northern Pub Company has bought the Edwardine site in the heart of the historic Spa Town for an unknown price, as it expands its customer base across Yorkshire.

The completion of The Hotel St. George has strengthened The In Collection Group’s position as a leading company in the UK and pub company with the largest number of bedrooms per site in the country for individual acquisitions.

“We’ve been in our spotlight for a long time, identifying a site that fits our ‘Eat, Drin, Sleep and Explore’ brand. Will be a tremendous asset for us and will add to our portfolio of the best places in the UK.

He added: “Hotel St. George has everything we could find in the location of The In Collection Group: a first-class destination, which puts our guests at the center of some of the UK’s best destinations – the Herogate and Aussie. Yorkshire Dells is a great site for exploring nearby places.

The Hotel St. George has an enviable location in the heart of Herogate on the city’s famous Parliament Hill, close to attractions including Heritage Town’s Turkish baths and Betty’s Torums.

The site, which includes The Swaledale Restaurant and six function rooms, continues to trade with the Rooms brand under the group’s ‘Eat, Drink, Sleep and Explore’ pub before undergoing careful renovations and renovations in 2022. Will keep

In October, the group saw the 15th-century coaching inn reopen, following the renovation of the Black Swan Multi-Million Pound in Helmsley.

The group made its first expansion in Wales in December with the purchase of The Suelo Falls Hotel in Snowdonia National Park.

Outside of Yorkshire, The In Collection Group’s estate includes sites in Northumberland, Lake District, County Durham, Tyne and Ware and Lancashire.

Ward Hadaway Corporate Partner Imogen Holland, along with Silverstone and Bradley Hall, provided legal advice on the acquisition of Hotel St. George and advises on prior readiness.

Gavin Wright, JLL’s senior director (hotels and hospitality), suggested selling by vendors.
