EDDIE HEARN has termed Aamir Khan’s long awaited feud with Kyle Brook as a ‘money consuming’ fight.
The former light welterweight and welterweight champions will clash in the long-awaited domestic dust-up in Manchester on Saturday night.
Khan and Brooke, both 35, are shadows of fighters who returned world titles to Bolton and Sheffield in 2009 and 2014, respectively.
And Deer, the pair’s former promoter, can’t help but think they’re doing something for the last big paycheck.
He told Second out“I have been involved in money laundering [Khan-Brook] Is [a money grab].
“It’s just that they’re both going. Let’s not be silly. That’s a lot of money for both of us. Let’s fight, man.”
“But they are both 50% fighters who were before. But it will still be a 50-50 fight. I still look at Kyle and it looks like he is training hard.
“Khan doesn’t look particularly fast or great, but he will give his all.”
Deer tried to make Britain fight when bitter rivals were stable in his matchroom but he failed to reach an agreement.
But he does not intend to give up his hard-earned money to watch the match.
He said: “I’m interested to know who wins. Will I sit down and watch it, maybe not.
“Of course, I want to know what happens now.
“It’s interesting now. Both guys are gone. You never know what’s going to happen.
“There was a lot at stake when I was trying to fight.
“Now, it’s almost like a handshake. Listen, let’s just do it.”
Khan and Brooke have been eyeing each other since a highly controversial session during a boxing training camp in England in 2004.
But King insists there will be no blood after being thrown into the ring this weekend – so much so that he wants to cut with Steel City Slugger.
“I don’t hate nails, it’s another day at the office,” he told SunSport.
“I’m not scared or nervous, I’m ready to kill him.
“There is no love between us but I have been living in Kyle’s head for the last 10 years. I can pay some rent for it.
“But now I have to put it in place.
“After the fight, there will be respect and maybe we can be friends. He looks like a good man.
“Maybe one day we’ll have coffee and chat together, but it’s too soon.”
