The Rangers have not resigned over the loss of Connor Goldson.

The ever-present defender is out of contract this summer and has yet to link his future to the Light Blues.

Sunsport Last month, it was revealed that the English couple Nottingham Forest and West Brom wanted to contact the 29-year-old in advance.

Goldson is free to negotiate with any interested parties as the deal continues.

But managing director Stuart Robertson has not given up hope of keeping the defender in the Rangers.

And says Ross Wilson is in regular talks with all the players who will be out of the Scottish Champions contract at the end of the season.

“We have not resigned to lose him. I know Ross. [Wilson] He is in regular talks with all the players whose contracts are coming to an end in the summer and this is something that will be taken into consideration in the coming months.

“I’m very philosophical about how these things work.

“The players come and sign a contract and they have made a commitment for that time.

“It simply came to our notice then.

“If someone leaves before their contracts expire and we get some revenue again, that’s something that everyone is happy with.

“I get noise which can sometimes follow things but we just have to deal with what is in front of us.”

Robertson, head of the Tech A Seat Rangers, says the Celtic clashes will keep spectators away.

The Rangers and Celtic are splitting the top two in the Premiership title race with just one point.

Ange Posticoglu’s men are the current leaders but there are many twists and turns to come before the end of the season.

Asked how much winning the league would help the club, Robertson added: “This will allow us to do more around the stadium and have different plans for the training round, for example the second hybrid. Pitch and other pitch in which underground heating system will be provided. More flexibility during winter.

“There are other areas like the academy and the women’s team we want to grow, so that will help us accelerate them.

“It will also allow us to reserve some money for the future if something goes wrong.

“It’s about constantly ensuring that we can make the most of the negative as well as the benefits.

“I have a very supportive board full of wise men. They are a good source of advice for us and they are all Rangers supporters.

“They are all very aware of where the club came from and there is no way we want to get it back.”
