They are two of the most ambitious – and expensive – TV shows in history.
Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is coming to Amazon on September 2 and will tell the story behind the JRR Tolkien Classic, which Peter Jackson made into a trilogy of movies in Notice.
But it faces stiff competition from the House of the Dragon, a prequel to the HBO fantasy game of Thrones, which will air later this year.
TV editor Rod McPhee took a look at two heavy whites.
Power rings: Eight Partners has already been named the most expensive TV series ever.
The three Lord of the Rings films cost more than £ 200 million – and they were completed 20 years ago, a small surprise given the fact.
The creators have sketched out five seasons, which they have already said will cost ارب 1 billion.
Amazon spent £ 185 million four years ago to buy the TV rights.
A trailer for the show aired during Sunday’s Super Bowl, showing just how epic it promises to be.
It is estimated that the first series alone will reduce 100 million, with the first installment of House of the Dragon expected to cost.
Dragon House: Production is ongoing, so studio owners have not yet submitted the final bill.
But HBO first started another prequel series, which it decided to end.
The pilot, starring actress Naomi Watts, cost £ 22 million, which suggests that the new ten-part series could cost more than £ 100 million.
The cost would also be affected by the delay of the quaid.
Power rings: The TV series returns to the Middle Earth, but this time it’s the second era in the world, thousands of years before the era in which movies are set.
It begins in an era of relative peace and touches on all the important events of that era, including the formation of circles of power, the rise of the Dark Lord Soron, the final alliance between Elvis and men, and the story of the island kingdom. Of number
According to JRR Tolkien’s books, these events span a thousand years, but they are too small to fit into a new series.
Dragon House: The new story begins 200 years before most of the action in Game of Thrones.
Based on author George R. R. Martin’s 2018 novel Fire and Blood, this house chronicles the fate of Targaryen – one of the ruling families of seven states.
Targaryen remained in power for three centuries, but the story goes after how he lost power during the Targaryen War.
It marks the beginning of the epic confrontation in the original Game of Thrones series, in which Mother of Dragons Denarius Targreen, played by Emilia Clarke, saw the Kings Landing recapture from the Leinster family.
Power rings: Production began in February 2020 and took place in the epic New Zealand landscape.
The studio owners wanted to capture the same captivating scenes that were used in the Lord of the Rings movies.
But disputes with authorities and the outbreak of the epidemic have persuaded Amazon to move future products out of the country.
Filming on Series One has now been completed, but it looks like the second season will be made in the UK this summer.
And more will follow. They are likely to be in Scotland, where Amazon actually explored a number of locations, including the Isle of Sky and Loch Lomond.
Dragon House: Filming began in April last year at Cornwall, where the creators are still finalizing Series One.
One site was the ancient town of Penzance, which saw producers make the most of stone buildings, rugged landscapes and sandy beaches.
Island castles near St. Michael’s Mount were also used, such as Holywell Bay and Conan’s Cove, where locals had to get into the habit of smoking cigarettes rising from seats and medieval banners and buildings.
But last fall, the team filmed briefly in the western Spanish province of Caceres and Portugal’s Monsanto Castle, before returning to the West again.
Power rings: The most recognizable name is Sir Lenny Henry, who will play the role of a Hobbit from the Harfots tribe in JRR Tolkien’s new worldview.
But most of the scenes are played by Welsh actress Morphide Clark as Geldrill, who played Kate Blanchett in the movies.
A sword-fighting, equestrian adventurer, she looks like the action hero of the series.
The trailer also gives us a closer look at young Elrond. He was cast in films by Hugo Weung, but will be portrayed by Robert Aramio, who also played the young Edward Stark in Game of Thrones.
Dragon House: Like the original Game of Thrones, the cast list reads who is one of the British greats – as well as the yearning of the coming stars.
Prince Demon Targaryen will be played by former Dr. Conn and The Crown actor Matt Smith.
She will be joined by Notting Hill star Rice Affans Otto High Tower and Vanity Fair star Olivia Cook.
Veteran actors Bill Petersen and David Horowitz will appear as Lord Lyman Bessbury and Grandmaster Milos, respectively.
The show has seemed a bit unfocused in recent episodes, with 29-year-old non-binary actress Emma DRC playing the role of Princess Rainera Targaryen.
