Detectives have launched an investigation into the killing of an 11-month-old girl and her 35-year-old mother in a car crash.

Police and paramedics arrived at a Shopshire A-Road early Tuesday morning after a collision between a Gray Ford Fox and a yellow lorry.

Despite their efforts, no casualties were reported.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver was safe.

Police today said they see the tragedy as a homicide.

Officers are not identifying any suspects.

However, they called on witnesses to come forward after the 1am collision, which took place on A41 between Newport and Turn Hill.

A West Murcia Police spokesman said: “Officers are appealing for information following a collision in North Shopshire where a woman and a child died tragically.

“It happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday on A41 near Newport and Turn Hill near Lavender Cottage.

“Sadly, a 35-year-old woman and an 11-month-old baby died at the scene.

“Officers are asking anyone who saw the incident, saw Gray Ford Fox driving in the area, or caught a car or incident on a dashcam, please get in touch.”

The West Midlands Ambulance Service said it had dispatched several resources to the scene, including three ambulances and three doctors.

The dead were found in “critical condition”. Shortly afterwards, both were pronounced dead.

It came after a woman and a small child were killed in an accident on Saturday near Lily Shawl, 16 miles away.

Emergency services were called to A518 New Trench Road at 6:20 p.m. after a collision between a blue mini and a gray Fiat 500.

Money’s driver, his 40-year-old wife, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two adults and a 19-month-old baby, all in Fiat, were rushed to hospital. The little girl lost the battle of life on Monday.

Speaking on the day of the collision, a spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Upon arrival, the ambulance crew had a violent collision between two vehicles, one of which went off the road.

“Two companions, an off-duty paramedic, were providing basic life support to a small child in a car.

Two adults, a man and a woman, were also trapped in the car.

“Sadly, the only occupant of the other car, a woman, was seriously injured.

“Despite the best efforts, he could not be rescued and his death was confirmed on the spot.

The young man was quickly pulled out of the car and taken to Princess Royal Hospital in a blue light where he was in stable condition.

She was then taken to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Pediatric Major Trauma Center on a blue light, where she arrived in critical condition.

Both the man and the woman in the car sustained multiple injuries. After their release, they were taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital’s major trauma center on a blue light.

“His condition was not considered fatal.”
