Rangers player Ryan Kent will have Bundesliga and Premier League clubs that will follow him after a stellar performance against Borussia Dortmund, Owen Hargreaves believes.

The winger threatened the Germans’ defense as Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men beat the winner 4-2 in the first leg of the Europa League at the West Fallen Stadium.

Hargreaves, a two-time Champions League winner, compared Kent to Bayern Munich and French legend Frank Ribery for their difficult wings.

And the former Manchester United midfielder felt it was the kind of performance in which some of Europe’s top clubs would have to line up to move Gears forward.

Hargreaves said BT Sport“I thought Kent was great.

“In a way, it was as if he was tearing Frank Ribery through Borussia Dortmund, the way he was dribbling as he did for Bayern Munich with his control and quality.

“Setting up John Lindstrom for the Rangers’ third goal was an extraordinary game.

“I think running at the speed of the players is one of Kent’s greatest strengths. It shocked everyone there.

“The Dortmund players probably didn’t know much about it before the game.

But you can guarantee that later in the dressing room, each of them will be saying, ‘Who is that boy?’

“He played so well that I wouldn’t be surprised if Bundesliga teams or Premier League teams were looking at him.

“Because it’s a performance that you have to watch and think, ‘Wow, this is a special player when he’s in the crowd and running.’

“And it has caused a lot of problems for Borussia Dortmund tonight.

“It’s a big pressure from Ryan Kent on the next goal. [to force the turnover] And Zagadou, who may have had the worst performance of his professional career, turned it into his goal. “
