“About six months ago, a good friend at the university contacted me and said he had a 19-year-old female cousin, who was evicted by her parents after she was caught dating a boy.

“She was living with my friend for a few months at the time but she had to ask him to leave because his girlfriend was getting upset and even though she was working.

“They are renting and their support was not enough so they had to pay out of pocket to cover the expenses and they could not do that anymore.

“This guy knows I have my own big apartment and he asked me if I could take him in for a while. I told him I would like to meet this girl first and he said okay. Is.”

Block arranged to meet with him, and when he confirmed that she was OK, he offered her.

He said: “I could not let a stranger go with me for free and because I do not need rent money, I asked him if he could do all the housework for me (cooking, cleaning, dogs Is down to do walking, ironing? Clothes, doing my laundry, shopping for groceries, paying bills, etc.).

“Ever since I started my PhD two years ago, my place has been very messy, so this kind of arrangement would have been very useful.

He gladly accepted, I gave him the guest bedroom and he was.

“Thanks to the fact that he doesn’t have to pay me a penny, he is able to save a lot of money while working, for which he is really grateful.

“I also like that now I can focus on my studies without worrying about the condition of my home.”

He was satisfied with the living conditions until his sister found out and challenged him.

She said: “A few days ago, my older sister somehow found out about my situation, met me and called me by many names, and said that I was basically looking for this weak girl as an independent housemaid. And that he probably did more because of a bunch of other things like that.

I asked her if she was down to do all the housework (cooking, cleaning, walking the dog, ironing my clothes, laundry, going to the grocery store, paying the bills, etc.)?

“I do not agree with him at all because we are both getting something out of our agreement.”

Fellow Reddit users were quick to share their thoughts.

One man said: “You have a contract with this woman: domestic labor rent. She does not seem to think she is being exploited.”

Another said: “She agreed to do this instead of paying you rent, which is perfectly acceptable. Unless you are pushing for it or taking advantage of the situation, it Okay fine.”

While a third added: “She agreed to work for a free board before entering, this is an arrangement that benefits her.

“Your sister has not spoken to the girl and she is making these barbaric allegations without any facts.

“As long as the girl agrees to this arrangement, your sister needs to be butt out.”
