The Interfax news agency reported that a section of a gas pipeline caught fire after a “powerful explosion” late Friday.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a rally in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine.

Maj. Gen. Denis Senenkov was not believed to be in his car when a large explosion shook the separatist-held city.

Putin’s pretext for invading Ukraine was feared to be a Kremlin-inspired “false flag” – as his fighting force reached 190,000.

A security expert in Kiev said: “This sounds like a false flag. They will blame Ukraine but how could they have managed to trap it?

Ukrainian officials have denied planning any such attack.
